Final Rankings - Prestige
Tier 1 - Francia and Britannia - "Grand Master of the Templars"
Tier 2 - Hispania - "Grand Master of Santiago"
Tier 3 - Holy Roman Empire and Italia - "Hochmeister"
Setting - 1066 to 1300 A.D. (Approx 10 sessions/weeks at speed 2)
This campaign will focus on empowering your dynasty over the course of the High Middle Ages and securing undeniable influence over the annals of history. While the powerful families of Christian Europe fight over the legacies and titles of Charlemagne, the Muslim dynasties continue to fragment and divide the empires of the Rashidun, each family's ambitions rarely straying farther than their own borders. However, the powers in Rome have concocted a grand project designed to unify the Catholic realms and spread Papal authority across new lands. Will this Crusade bring common cause to the rival dynasties of Christendom, or will it be undermined by opportunism and distrust? No matter their designs, all will claim Deus Vult!

Campaign Rules
1. Restricted Actions - Various anti-cheese rules that will be enforced to allow the most fun for the most players and a some notable in-game rule options that are being utilized.
- Player-controlled characters that have two or more kingdom-rank titles may not create any other kingdom-rank titles. Any titles created in this way will be destroyed, and the offending character will have at least one of their highest titles given away to a courtier as penalty.
- Player-controlled characters that have a empire-rank title may not create any other empire-rank or kingdom-rank titles. Any titles created in this way will be destroyed, and the offending character will have at least one of their highest titles given away to a courtier as penalty.
- Matrilinear Marriage Restriction - Only Matriarchs and female Heirs age 16 or older are allowed to use Matrilinear Marriages. This means that if the character does not have the 'star' or 'crown' symbols (identifying the player and heir respectively) then you may not use a Matrilinear Marriage for them and you may never use a Matrilinear Betrothal. Any family discovered to violate this rule will be suitably culled to remove any benefit gained.
- Assassination of other players and immediate family members will be unavailable by in-game rules. This does not prevent you from being assassinated by the AI.
- Demesne and Vassal limits have been decreased by half by in-game rules, to provide a more interesting challenge to the most powerful players.
2. Influence - Adding up the total Realm Size of your Dynasty.
The Influence of your dynasty will be the total of all holdings de facto under titles held by all living characters of your dynasty. This means that an individual character's Influence will equal the number of holdings in the demesne of the character plus all holdings under all vassals they might have. This should also equal the Realm Size number that is viewable in the top-right of the screen for any character. However, any particular holding cannot be counted twice when calculating the Influence of a dynasty, and only hereditary titles are counted for influence (elective titles are ignored). Essentially, you can add up the Realm Size for all landed characters of your dynasty.
- Example 1: A character has the titles for the duchy of Brittany and the duchy of Normandy, plus he has two of the county titles in the duchy of Normandy. If Brittany has 15 holdings in it, and Normandy has 13 holdings in it, the character's Influence is 28. His county titles do not add anything in addition to this score because those holdings are already counted in the Influence for the duchy titles. If this character additionally held two county titles across the English Channel in the duchy of Sussex, each containing 3 holdings, his Influence would increase to 34.
- Example 2: A character has the titles for the duchy of Brittany and the duchy of Normandy, plus he has two of the county titles in the duchy of Normandy and his oldest son holds a county in Normandy and his cousin of the same dynasty holds two counties in Sussex. This player would normally be able to add all the Influence for each character in his dynasty to his total dynasty influence, but the son's titles will not be added in this scenario because these holdings are already counted in the scoring of his father's duchy titles. In contrast, the holdings under the cousin will be added to the player's Influence.
3. Scoring Regions - Tier/Bracket rules.
Characters based outside of the scoring regions (usually de jure empires) of their dynasty or conquered by an outside power may not contribute full influence to their dynasty. In the situations described below, a characters influence will be equal to the number of counties under their hereditary titles instead of the number of holdings:
- If an independent character's primary title is not a de jure part of their scoring region.
- If a character's highest/independent liege's primary title is not a de jure part of their scoring region.
After any successful Crusade, the de jure kingdom that was the target of the Crusade will become a Scoring Region for all players and the de jure capital county of the region will become a scoring objective for all players.
4. Dynasty Patriarch/Matriarch - Rules for switching characters within your dynasty.
The character controlled by each player will be considered the Patriarch of their dynasty. At the start of any session, a player may choose to control any member of his dynasty instead of the character he ended as on his last session, therefore changing his Patriarch. Players may not switch characters in the middle of a session.
5. Home Duchies - Protection rules to maintain the power base of every player.
The de jure Duchy that contains the primary title of each starting character is considered his Home Duchy. Other players may never initiate wars or take diplomatic actions that would strip the title of the Home Duchy, or any de jure title under the Home Duchy, from any character of that player's Dynasty . If another player starts such a war, purposefully or inadvertently, the defending player may pause the game and the offending player must fully surrender the war before the game can continue. The titles within a player's Home Duchy are not protected in any way unless they are held by a member of the player's Dynasty. This protection does not apply against any AI and players are free to participate however they like in wars instigated by the AI, no matter what titles may be targeted in the war.
6. Dynasty Reset - Restart rules. Hopefully you will not need these.
At the end of any session, a player may ask to have his Dynasty 'reset' to his his starting provinces: All landed members of the Dynasty will give up their titles to a randomly created courtier and the youngest living member of the Dynasty will be given the initial starting Dynasty titles, no matter their current owners. The titles will remain in vassalage within their current feudal hierarchy, favoring the primary title.
7. Gaming Logisitics - Game Speed and Rehosts.
- Game will run at speed 2.
- As long as overall network stability is good, and no more than one player suffers a crash or de-sync at a time, rehosts will be scheduled at and limited to 8:30 and 9:30 pm EST to pick up late or dropped players. If you do not make it before the game starts at 7:30, make sure you let the host know that you will be available for the next rehost.
- Player-controlled characters that have two or more kingdom-rank titles may not create any other kingdom-rank titles. Any titles created in this way will be destroyed, and the offending character will have at least one of their highest titles given away to a courtier as penalty.

Scoring
Scoring will take place on 1100 and every 25 years afterword. Patriarchs/Characters that have a public religion that is outside the starting Religious Group (Christian, Muslim, Pagan, etc.) of their dynasty will not be eligible to score for their dynasty in any of the the below categories. There are 7 categories.
1. Influence - The Dynasty with the most Influence in each Religious Group will gain points equal to the difference between their Influence and the next most Influential Dynasty in their Religious Group. Characters with a primary title that is de facto outside of their scoring regions will contribute reduced Influence as described in the Campaign Rules.
Advice: This provides the greatest and most unpredictable source of points. Pay attention to which dynasties have the highest and second highest influence. Avoid helping, and actively resist, other players who are attempting to gain Influential titles, and consider helping another player close the gap with the leader.
2. Independence - Patriarchs who are independent will gain 10 points for their dynasty.
Advice: Consider the strength and claims of you and your potential neighbors before you leave the protection of a larger realm. You may quickly end up worse off than your were before.
3. Subjugation - Dynasties will gain 10 points for each Patriarch of a different dynasty that is a vassal beneath any of its members.
Advice: Join wars that would prevent other players from becoming your liege. Consider switching your Patriarch to deny these points to another player.
4. Objectives - Dynasties will gain 10 points for each Objective County title in their scoring regions that is held by any of their members.
Advice: If you give away the County title for an objective, make sure it stays in the family. Holding land adjacent to the objective will make it much easier to seize the objective in a window of opportunity with the Border Dispute casus belli. If your opponent holds the objective title, you can press the claims of its previous holders or other dynasties to at least deny your opponent these points, even if you cannot gain a claim yourself.
5. Culture - Dynasties will gain 5 points for every independent ruler in the game whose Culture matches their Dynasty's Culture and whose primary title is Duchy-level or higher and is a part of their scoring regions. If a Dynasty's Culture is a constituent of any "melting-pot" cultures, then a player may choose to change their Dynasty's culture to that culture at any time if their Patriarch is also that culture at that time. This can also be done in reverse to the constituent of a "melting-pot" culture.
Advice: Seek allies of your own culture, and consider helping them gain and maintain independence. Use the Heritage education option to convert heirs of your realm and other realms to your culture.
6. Prestige - The Dynasty from each Religious Group with the most prestigious living member whose primary title is de facto in their scoring regions will gain 10 points for his dynasty.
Advice: Long reigns tend to be important for accumulating Prestige and Piety, hide from swords and disease. I'm sorry your Patriarch died in 1099 :(
7. Piety - The Dynasty from each Religious Group with the most pious living member whose primary title is de facto in their scoring regions will gain 10 points for his dynasty.
Advice: Again, I'm sorry.
8. The College - Dynasties will gain 5 points for every Dynasty member appointed as a Cardinal, and 20 points for every dynasty member elected as Pope.
Advice: This is the only method of scoring that is not tied to scoring dates. You will immediately gain points for this if it occurs and do not need to worry about making sure the scoring individual survives until a scoring date.
Rewards:
- Prestige divided by tier as in the EU campaigns.
- Titles:
Tier 1 - Grand Master of the Templars
Tier 2 - Grand Master of Calatrava (Grand Master of Santiago if Portuguese)
Tier 3 - Hochmeister (Grand Master of the Hospitallers if Italian)
- Placement will be used for selection order in future campaigns as in the EU campaigns.
